Stanley Boyer, became a braided wool rug maker, shortly after retiring. Initially, he became interested in participating in numerous outdoor activities. Which is fine as long as the weather cooperates. But on raining days, Stanley found himself needing an indoor activity to occupy his time.

He started to make braided wool rugs. First, he made them for his own home and relatives, then for his neighbors, friends and then for friend’s friends.

He soon realized he was successful with his new avocation and joined and became a juried member of the Reading-Berks Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.

He has received many awards for his artistry and quality at local crafts shows.
