Pennsylvania German Fraktur

Between 1750-1850, Germans who came to Pennsylvania produced a gaily decorated art on paper now called fraktur. Used in record keeping fraktur became a valuable expression of daily life.

These are my original designs, handcolored and lettered on parchment - faithfully continuing the tradition of a charming and useful folk art - a keepsake for the future in celebration of the past.
